Special FAQ's for 'Gloom Buster' One Day Concerts

These Concerts are designed to let you Upload, Vote for yourself, and Win cash every day.  You can improve your chances of winning by sending the eMail with the address of your music file to your friends, and getting them to vote for you as well.
All prizes are decided by popular vote, and you can vote for yourself as many times as you can.

Our professional Panel will review every entry as normal, because we are still looking for the next 'Star'.

A maximum of 15 entries will be received into any Concert in this catagory, and voting will start when the last entry is uploaded.

Your concert fee provides you with up to six months of additional time on the site and on the Radio Station 'YouAreAStar'.

You can enter as many times as you like, with any type of music file.  And you can Win as many times as you get the most votes!

How Does a Concert Work?

You upload your Music File into a specific Concert.  Your music file is then available for popular voting.  The top 10 files as decided by popular vote are then passed to the Professional Panel, where a winner is selected.

How many music files make up a concert?

A concert is automatically started when the lowest number of music files is sufficient to cover all the costs involved in providing the cash prize.

How long does a concert run for?

Concerts run for a 7 day voting period from the time you receive an email telling you that your concert has commenced.

How does someone vote for my music file?

At the time that your concert starts you will receive an email in which the URL for your music file and concert will be specified. By either clicking on this URL, or pasting it into your browser, you will be taken straight to your music file in the running concert, where you can click on the vote button.

You may vote this way as many times as you wish. Alternatively, you can log onto the site and vote that way.

By sending the email to contacts you can invite them to vote for your music file simply by clicking on the URL link.

As the top voted 10 files are passed to the Professional Panel for final voting, it is in your best interests to send the email to as many people as you can, and encourage them to vote for you.

How do I know when my concert has started?

You will receive an email at the time of your upload is confirmed, with the ID and location of your file.  Your file will be available from that time and that you have 7 days to get as many votes as you can.

How do I know where my music file is in the popular vote?

You will receive an email every day listing the top 10 music files in your concert, and you can also check your file any time and see how many votes you have received.

How do I know who won the cash prize in my concert?

You will receive an email with the top 10 places in your concert at the conclusion of the voting period.

How do I know when the voting period concludes?

Popular voting is for 7 days from the start of your concert, at the end of which you will receive an email showing the top 10 files.

How do I enter a concert?

By uploading a music file into the specific Concert you wish to participate in. 

How do I upload a music file?

Go to the upload page and follow the simple directions.  Any music file format is acceptable.

How do I get paid a cash prize should my music file win the popular vote?

We will send you an email with specific instructions on how to establish a secure process to receive your cash prize if you are the winner.

How do I vote for a music file?

You can click on the URL (music file/concert) contained in the email sent to you at the time you upload.  You can send this email with the link to contacts and they can also click on the link and vote for your music file.
Anyone can vote at any time for any music file by clicking on the music file on the 'Vote Now' page.

What type of music file can I upload?

Any music file format is acceptable, but some formats may take longer to appear on the site.  Music files can be made with your phone, pod, recorder, computer or any device that can record a digital signal.

Should I add voice-over introduction to the music file?

Yes, please introduce yourself and tell us about your music file.  This is your chance to tell your audience about your music.

What is the largest file size I can upload?

The maximum file size that can be uploaded is 30MB.

Can I upload the same music file in more than one Concert?

Yes, but as a separate upload process, requiring a separate upload fee for each individual music file.

Can I upload a music file more than once if I do not win the first time?

Yes, but as a separate upload process, requiring a separate upload fee for each individual music file.

Must the lyrics be in English?

No, any language is acceptable.

Must the lyrics be appropriate for the audience?

Yes, any inappropriate language will disqualify your music file from voting. This site is designed for aspiring singers and musicians of all ages, so we respectfully request that the use of language or concepts that may offend younger listeners not be used. Upload and / or concert fees will not be refunded if your file is removed from the site because of inappropriate use of language, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Payments page

When entering your credit card details, it is important to type in all the numbers that form the CSC (Card Security Code) (sometimes on the back of your card near your signature, or on the face of the Amex card). This will prevent your payment being rejected by the security system incorporated into the site.

How Does a Super Concert Work?

You upload your Music File into a specific Super Concert.  Your music file is then available for popular voting.  The top 25 files as decided by popular vote are then passed to the Professional Panel, where a winner is selected.
